Art of Mentoring occurring in the Virgin Islands. Calling All Educators, Mentors, and Students of Nature:
First Art of Mentoring in the Caribbean!

February 22-28, 2010

In February 2010 acclaimed author and naturalist Jon Young will be here in the Caribbean Island of St. Croix. This event should be considered a must for environmental educators, school teachers, parents, naturalists, community leaders, all local residents, island visitors, and members of nature or cultural based organizations who desire a positive future for the coming generations. This includes all ages, especially elders!

Please forward this open invitation to your networks and friends of interest.

We invite you to join us at the Virgin Islands Sustainable Farm Institute, a farm school nestled in the abundant and lush rolling green hills and valleys of Northwest St. Croix.

St. Croix is an island that is rapidly becoming an epicenter of regenerative healing for the Caribbean region, with diverse cultural roots and a surprisingly lush and extensive natural habitats, especially around the VISFI campus.

We invite you to come here and immerse yourself in this transformational week-long program that for the past decade has changed the lives of thousands of people profoundly world-wide.

The Art of Mentoring is a doorway to deep connection with nature, people and with ourselves. Jon’s teachings revive hope in us that each person can make a significant impact on today’s environmental and social problems. He has formed a successful model to create and facilitate a learning environment that enables us to step fully into our unique gifts and purpose. Did you ever wish you grew up in a community where you had sisters, grandmothers, aunties and wise women to hold you and teach you the ways of women who live close to the earth? Did you ever wish you grew up with guides deepening your knowledge of the natural world and how to live with the natural world? Have you ever felt the very moment you are in feels so old, like something deeply familiar? Cellular memory is calling to you. Your deepest self is remembering.

Join us for Reclaiming Our Birthright to remember how to be authentic women as we weave together time tested teachings from ancient cultures. We will be combining the Kamana Naturalist Training Program? (www.kamana.org) with Women’s Ways? http://www.moonfiremeetinghouse.com/mystery/ to explore and build our connection to nature and ourselves as women.

This 9-month program beginning March 20th weaves together weekend gatherings every six weeks with home study and practice. Our weekend gatherings will combine guest instructors with sharing circles and support on our journey together as women and with the Kamana program. Guest instructors include Lorraine Simone of Moonfire Meeting House on sacred communication, journey work & fire ceremony and Dan Gardoqui of White Pine Programs on bird language and awareness. We will be diving right into Kamana 2 during this 9-month program with service support and coaching from Vermont Wilderness School.
